Tips for Cooking Fresh Side Bacon:
Fresh Side Bacon isn't smoked and cured so it doesn't have the flavor you are use to getting from your grocery store bacon. The plus to fresh side bacon is it is all natural and free of artificial flavoring and sodium nitrates. You also can season it how you like. Here are some of our favorite ways to cook fresh side bacon.
Prefer cooking in a cast iron skillet, but not required.
Our new favorite way is to cook in cast iron skillet and sprinkle with Rib Tickler Rub from Honeysuckle Gourmet (www.honeysucklegourmet.com).
Cook your bacon in a little bit of pure maple syrup or honey.
Coat each side of the bacon with pepper and have peppered bacon.
If you like your bacon to have a sweet taste start cooking the bacon in the skillet. Once the juices start to release sprinkle a little bit of brown sugar on each slice. When you flip your bacon then sprinkle a little on the other side.
